State of Maine food assistance programs

Maine’s Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources operates the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, focused on providing nutritious foods to income-eligible seniors through food banks and the regional Agencies on Aging. Also oversees the “Hunters for the Hungry” program, which supplies game meat to food pantries and households with special medical needs.
