Programs include personal care assistance, housekeeping services and companion service for seniors who are still living in their own homes.

Dining centers operate in Caribou, Fort Kent, Houlton, Madawaska, Presque Isle, Van Buren, serving noon meals to any person age 60 or older. Home-bound residents of Aroostook county may be eligible for Meals-on-Wheels.

Aroostook County affordable housing complexes

Provides residential units administered by the Maine State Housing Authority.  Rent is categorized as Income Based, which means tenants generally pay about 1/3 of their household income on rent; or Rent Restricted, which means that rents are typically based on a specified percentage of the median income for the area.

Aroostook Regional Transportation System

Provides scheduled on-demand ride services throughout northern Maine, including the Danforth region in Washington County and Patten in Penobscot county.

Fort Fairfield Housing Authority

Administers public housing in the town of Fort Fairfield, including units for seniors and the disabled, plus Section 8 vouchers for the Fort Fairfield, Easton, and Limestone, Maine area.

Memory Clinic at Cary Medical Center

A dementia evaluation center. A collaborative team consisting of a geriatrician, nurse and social workers can make a diagnosis of dementia or memory disorder, provide information about the disease, and offer access to resources for appropriate care.

Offers Section 8 vouchers plus 90 units of public housing.

Visiting Nurses of Aroostook/Hospice of Aroostook

Provides comprehensive in-home health and hospice services for Aroostook County residents. Although VNA home care services are paid for by public and private sources, or directly by patients and their families, tax-exempt donations help cover the cost of care provided to the uninsured or underinsured.
